That training and experience is something I as well as these youths will never forget! Some of those skills I learned at that age actually helped me get through my Tour of Duty in Vietnam as a Light Infantryman. My hats off to your Staff.

My husband Damon and I would like to thank you all for your dedication to this wonderful program. When Emily told us she wanted to join youth academy we were excited she was getting involved in such an intense program. Her cousin has attended youth academy for the past 10 years in Mahwah and when she told him of her experience he was amazed by all of the training and activities she participated in. I have yet to hear of a program as rigorous as this one. She came home tired every day but it was a good tired. She stepped out side of her comfort zone and pushed herself further then I think even she thought she could. Although academy just ended we are thrilled to see the change in her. I had an issue and needed some help and she didn't stand and wait for me to ask for help she jumped right in and took charge. She stands taller and proudly wears her dog tags every day. We want each of you to know that the time and effort you all put out there is so greatly appreciated. I don't think she will ever forget this experience nor will I. Thank you for taking such good care of her and helping her become a better person. If there is ever anything my husband and I can do to help out the program we will gladly be there.

I wanted to take this opportunity to not only T H A N K Y O U but commend you on completing your 5th successful Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy. Your commitment to the youth and the others in our community is unparalleled. Although success can be measured in several ways the consistent year after year enthusiasm by our community to want to be part of your program is only one of the strong indicators of the success of the program.
The strength of your program can be found in you the Program Director. You have been able to bridge the gap for young people and adults alike when it comes to the important and sometimes overlooked "life skills" for not only our youth but an entire community. Being able to connect to our diverse community through effective communication and training techniques is a unique attribute which you have brought to our community. More importantly is the consistency and persistence that continues even after the academy is completed as you follow up with all of your graduates and families. It is that 24x7-365 day per year approach that gives credibility to your endeavor and ensures the success of your program. It also separates your program from ALL others and raises the bar that others can only hope to attain.
Thank you again for not only have the vision to create such an impactful community program but having the energy and wherewithal to see that vision through to a reality for five years running. It is certainly more than I could have ever expected in my vision to create a more community minded police department.
